Happy Small Business Saturday, Reader!

Yes, it's me again with another sales pitch that's doing it wrong.

You see, apprently I'm supposed to bombard you with 125% off coupons to convince you to buy, buy, BUY! Sorry. We don't do a lot of discounts around here, any time of the year. There are no doorbusters, because we really are a small business. It's just the five of us, plus Jenna and Rachel.

We just make things we hope you'll like, things to help you fight Adultitis, bring a little light into the world, and put a smile on your face.

The two things I'm most proud of this year are my first-ever children's book, The Penguin Who Flew, and our limited edition 2026 Celebrate Everything calendar. I designed them myself, from scratch. We put a lot of love, time, and upfront capital to create these things ourselves, without the deep pockets of a publisher.

If you haven't grabbed one yet, they make great gifts this time of year, for all kinds of people, like friends, clients, customers, coaches, teachers, and all the other people in your neighborhood. And we do offer price breaks for the more you buy. (We're not animals.)

And we are grateful to everyone who has already parted with their hard-earned money to purchase one or both of these products.

From this small business comes a BIG thank you for supporting our family and mission!

Stay young and stay fun,

P.S.

Fun fact: since the earliest days of our business, before we even started turning a profit, we committed a percentage of sales to organizations that help improve the lives of children, including our current focus, Compassion International. To date, we are proud to have donated over $168,000 so far! It may not be the millions of dollars the big guys can donate, but we think it shows the power a small business can have to make a difference.

Thank YOU for making a difference in our lives, and for helping us make a difference in the lives of so many children around the world!

I am a professional reminder-er and permission granter who moonlights as an artist, author, and speaker. I enjoy Star Wars, soft t-shirts, and brand new tubes of paint. My wife Kim and I homeschool our three weird kids and live in Wisconsin, where we eat way too many cheese curds.

Special Issue 🍋 Happy Thanksgiving Hangover, Reader! I hope you had a great one, however you celebrated. As you know, today is what they call Black Friday, the magical time of year when we are all supposed to max out our credit cards. I have always hated feeling the pressure to bombard you with sales pitches. That's the artist in me. On the other hand, I am running a business, and this really is a major time of year when people are looking for gifts. And the birthdays of all three of my kids...

Greetings from Sheboygan, where I have finally completed uploading all my artwork to the new portfolio section, which allows you to dynamically view my art by topic, series, and keyword, and read the story behind each piece. Now I can wait to add some new work! In the process of redesigning our website, I came across a great reminder I thought was worth sharing with you today. Andre Cassagnes,...
